As a graduate from SUNY Fredonia with her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Enjoli is a valued member of the Horizon team. Enjoli started at Horizon in June of 2017 as a Care Coordinator and has since grown into the role of Advanced Practice Care Coordinator. Q&A with Enjoli
What made you choose Horizon?
I was looking to make a shift to a new company, and I knew that Horizon was a reputable organization that does incredible work for the community. I learned about the Care Coordinator position at Horizon through some family and friends and decided to apply. I’ve now been with the company for 5 years!
How has your education shaped your career?
I feel that, although my educational background isn’t in Human Services, my degree has helped me learn how to communicate with people in an effective way. Through my time at Fredonia, I also gained insight on how to network with others. I now use these skills in the work I do each day to best support members of the community.
What does a typical day at work look like for you?
As a Care Coordinator, we work directly with members of our community to help manage their complex and chronic health care needs. Because of our unique connection to members of the community, no two days look the same. My role requires me to be flexible each day, as our schedules change regularly. I like that I don’t know what each day will bring me – it keeps me on my toes!
What keeps you motivated in your role?
I truly feel that my purpose in life is to help others. Our core responsibility as Care Coordinators is to help others find the support they need to maintain or improve their lives physically, mentally, and socially. Seeing the progress that my members make because of our team’s support motivates me to continue to do my best each day. It’s inspiring to know that by achieving my goals at work each day, I’m also helping others meet their personal goals.
