Virtual Training and Speakers Bureau
Horizon provides necessary presentations and resources to our community. Across Western New York, we have the incredible opportunity to enhance the quality of life of employees, students, and residents with education and information about mental health and addiction.
Teen Mental Health Program
Horizon’s Teen Mental Health Program, founded by The Devin Waring Foundation with support from The Good Climb and The Revelas Family Foundation, focuses on improving mental health education, awareness, and support for high school students. Horizon works with local schools to offer customized educational presentations and resources for students, staff, and families, both virtually and in-person.
Heart-to-Heart Podcast
Horizon Health Services’ Heart-to-Heart is a podcast that furthers our work of providing individuals impacted by mental health and substance use disorders with hope and information. This support also extends to the families and loved ones of those affected.
myStrength
myStrength is a secure web platform and mobile app offering resources to improve your mood and overcome challenges. Horizon clients can use it to track their health, enjoy interactive activities, and view inspiring quotes and videos.
Therapy Dog Program
Therapy dogs are trained to provide affection and comfort to our patients. They fill an emotional void often experienced by patients with substance use and/or mental health disorders.
Parent & Family Support Group
Together, we can better understand substance use and the treatment readily available to all of us. To learn more about meeting times and joining the group, contact Parent & Family Support Coordinator, Colleen Babcock at CBabcock@horizon-health.org.

SAFER/SBIRT Program
As our community experiences rising rates of vaping, cannabis, and use of other substances among adolescents and young adults, we are eliminating barriers to accessing services by providing intervention in the community. Horizon offers the Substance Abuse-Free Education/Intervention & Referral (SAFER) Program that provides SBIRT services in the community. Services can be provided directly in Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Universities, and other community settings.
SBIRT (Screening Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment) is a comprehensive, integrated, public health, approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services for persons with substance use disorders, as well as those who are at risk of developing these disorders.
