A licensed mental health counselor and certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor, Brandy brings more than twenty years of clinical experience to her leadership. She has been a driving force behind Horizon’s integrated care model and has played a pivotal role in expanding substance use services across Western New York. Her accomplishments include restructuring and expanding Erie County’s only community based detoxification program and developing two innovative residential programs—one for young adults and one for women—that were the first in New York State to operate under the new 820 regulations, enabling more intensive clinical services within residential settings.
Brandy is deeply committed to ensuring high quality, accessible behavioral health care for all community members and to fostering a supportive, mission driven environment for the behavioral health workforce. She has been recognized for her leadership with the ASAP Eileen Pencer Women’s Leadership Award and the 2025 Business First Excellence in Healthcare Award. She has also championed women specific programming at Horizon, including expanded training in perinatal mental health and partnerships with local medical providers to strengthen early intervention.
In addition to her executive role, Brandy serves as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Mental Health Counseling at Canisius University, where she teaches courses on substance use and the impact of the opioid epidemic. An alumna of Canisius College, she holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a graduate degree in mental health counseling.
Brandy is a strong advocate for behavioral health policy reform and workforce development, frequently speaking at both the state and national levels. She serves as the Region 2 Board Member for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, sits on the Executive Board of InUnity Alliance, and is an active member of the Therapeutic Community Association of New York State.
