Horizon Corporations announced today that Brandy Vandermark Murray, LMHC, CASAC, has assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, leading one of Western New York’s most comprehensive behavioral health organizations.

Brandy succeeds to the organization’s top leadership position after serving as Horizon’s President, where she provided strategic leadership and advanced the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality, accessible behavioral healthcare. Prior to that role, she served as Senior Vice President of Operations, overseeing all behavioral health programs and leading strategic initiatives that strengthened Horizon’s clinical excellence, operational performance, and capacity to meet growing community needs.

A Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, Brandy brings more than two decades of clinical and leadership experience to the position. Throughout her tenure at Horizon, she has been instrumental in expanding access to care, advancing integrated healthcare services, and developing innovative programs to address substance use disorders and mental health needs across Western New York.

Among her many accomplishments, Brandy led the restructuring and expansion of Erie County’s only community-based detoxification program and developed two groundbreaking residential treatment programs, one for young adults and one for women, that were among the first in New York State to operate under 820 regulations, allowing for more intensive clinical services within residential settings.

“As we begin this next chapter together, I feel a strong sense of purpose, optimism, and resolve,” said Vandermark-Murray. “The need for accessible, innovative, and compassionate behavioral healthcare has never been greater—and together, we are uniquely positioned to meet this moment. Our future will be shaped by our willingness to evolve, our commitment to one another, and our shared dedication to those we serve.”

Brandy has been a driving force behind Horizon’s integrated care model and has championed initiatives that improve equitable access to behavioral healthcare. She has also been a strong advocate for women-specific programming, expanding training in perinatal mental health and strengthening partnerships with local medical providers to support early intervention and coordinated care.

A respected voice in behavioral health policy and workforce development, Brandy frequently speaks at state and national forums. She serves as the Region 2 Board Member for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, sits on the Executive Board of InUnity Alliance, and serves on the board of the Therapeutic Community Association of New York State.
