Horizon University is an approved education provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the following professions:
Horizon reimburses full-time employees for all fees incurred and paid during employment associated with the initial and/or renewal of a licensure or credentialing process for qualifying health professionals (QHP). You’ll receive reimbursement on the first anniversary of passing your exam.
Through a student loan repayment platform, Peanut Butter, Horizon offers qualified team members up to $600 per year toward student loans.
There’s no maximum contribution limit either. Work with Horizon for five years, and we will contribute at least $3,000 toward your student loans.
But wait, there’s more! Horizon employees in all positions are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, so you can do good for yourself while doing good for others. PSLF allows qualifying Federal student loans to be forgiven after 120 qualifying payments while working for a qualifying employer like Horizon.
Additional Federal Loan Repayment Programs through the NHSC are also available for clinical and even some paraprofessional positions at eligible clinics. These generous programs offer loan repayment awards of $50K – $100K or more in exchange for service commitments to do the lifesaving work you were already committed to doing. It’s a win-win!
Gain real world experience at one of our state-of-the-art facilities across Erie, Niagara, or Genesee Counties. Horizon offers clinical internships for both master’s and bachelor’s level students pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Substance Use Counseling, or a related Health and Human Services field. Opportunities for non-clinical internships (in administrative and business roles) are occasionally available for students based on the organization’s needs.
Our internships provide extensive supervision and training opportunities for all students. All accepted students will attend Intern Mingle Orientation to prepare for a successful internship experience. We enjoy partnering with colleges and universities to allow students to gain hands-on experience in the behavioral health field.
The Spring internship application cycle will begin every October and accepted students will begin internships in January.
The Fall internship application cycle will begin every April and accepted students will begin internships in August.
Internship applications will be posted on our job board at the start of an application cycle.
