Mental Health/Psychiatry Services: Mental Health Self Test

If you think you might have a mental illness, or if you think someone you know might have a mental illness, answer the questions below. If you answer “Yes” to any question, it is time to seek professional evaluation.

  • Trouble sleeping because of worries or stress
  • Panicky feelings, agitation, anxiety, excessive worrying
  • Thinking about hurting yourself or others
  • Having trouble managing anger
  • Feeling sad, blue or crying excessively
  • Loss of interest in things you normally enjoy
  • Withdrawing from friends and family
  • Inability to attend to daily responsibilities at home or work
  • Loss of appetite or significantly increased eating due to stress or worries
  • Conflicts in relationships with family members or others
  • Coping with domestic violence or sexual, physical or emotional abuse
  • Trouble thinking clearly
  • Hearing or seeing things that aren’t there
