We are pleased to announce that our inpatient detox services will begin April 1, 2014 at Horizon Village Terrace House located at 291 Elm Street in Buffalo NY.
We are adding on to our short-term detox services to offer extended stay based on medical need. Inpatient care is appropriate for individuals who have not succeeded in outpatient addiction treatment and who need a 24-hour intensive medically structured program.
Those people who will be considered for admission must meet the following criteria:
- Alcohol and/or other drug dependence
- Imminent danger of relapse which may lead to health complications or medical emergencies
- Need for stabilization following acute withdrawal
- Inability to remain abstinent through outpatient care
People needing inpatient care may also have co-morbid mental and or physical health conditions. Further, persons will be unable to remain abstinent at lower levels of care, have lack of adequate sober support, lack of housing and/or challenges with medication adherence.
Appointments can also be scheduled by calling the Horizon Admissions department at 716-831-1800. We will also be putting more information up on the detox section of our website in the coming weeks.
The difference between our 4-day detox and our inpatient detox is that a patients’ length of stay is determined by need. Typical stays are 7 – 14 days. But there is a possible extended stay to 28 days for co-occurring mental health or medical disorders.
Horizon Village Terrace House is a 28 bed medically supervised and medically monitored withdrawal and stabilization service. We provide twenty-four hour care to men and women with alcohol and opiate dependence who need support, counseling, observation, nursing and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.
