Vocational Services

Meaningful employment can play an important role in recovery and creating a meaningful future. Education, Career development, and Employment foster independence, stability, and a sense of accomplishment. Vocational Counseling provides personalized support to help individuals identify and achieve their educational and employment goals while addressing barriers that may stand in the way of success.

Through one-on-one counseling sessions, a Vocational Counselor works alongside each individual to determine which services are most appropriate based on their goals. Services include:

  • Exploring careers that align with an individual’s interests and skills
  • Developing and updating resumes
  • Searching and applying for jobs
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Providing ongoing support after employment is secured
  • Exploring educational opportunities, job training programs, and professional certificates

Vocational Services are available at no cost to ANY eligible Erie and Niagara County residents who identify with having a substance use disorder (or who are in recovery) and receiving support from any OASAS treatment provider. You do not have to be a current Horizon patient to receive Vocational Services.

Feeling better is possible. We can help.
