World Record Broken in Support of Horizon!

On December 20th, The Revelas Family Foundation and our incredible WNY community came together to break the Guinness World Records title for the Largest Chicken Wing Eating Contest… and THEY DID IT!

Over 900 people gathered at the Buffalo Convention Center for an unforgettable evening that was not only tons of fun, but also a powerful opportunity to raise awareness about mental health and the resources available in our community. All funds raised from the event were generously donated to Horizon’s Teen Mental Health Program.

We are so grateful for The Revelas Family Foundation’s continued support of our mission. Thank you for a night we won’t forget!

Quick Fact of the Month

Did you know?

Deep breathing calms our nervous system! When we take deep breaths, we activate our parasympathetic nervous system leading to reduced stress hormone production, decreased activity in our amygdala, and increasing vagal tone. This leads to slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, and decreased muscle tension.

One way to practice deep breathing is inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 4 seconds, exhaling for 4 seconds, and holding again for 4 seconds. This is called box breathing – repeating this a few times can help reduce our body’s fight or flight response that is responsible for anxiety and panic.
